Spring Fling

It's already spring 2013 in the world of fashion. Judging from the styles seen on the streets by people attending the shows this week, as far as clothes and accessories are concerned, pretty much anything goes. For sure, camouflage, studded & strappy animal print sandals, spiked leather wrap bracelets, skulls, touches of neon, maxi dresses and platform sneakers are all here to stay - at least until the end of summer. Summer clothes have never been my favorite. Every summer, I surrender to a few basics and wear them until I'm ready to burn them come September. So, it is with great excitement that some of the spring 2013 highlights are clothes that, while super casual and wearable, will look clean, crisp and fresh well into next summer and might just escape the incinerator! So far, these are my favorite looks...

@ Altuzarra...the footwear is a little too Helen of Troy for my taste, but I love the patterns, the tailoring and the overall vibe of these clothes. Notice the flattering little waist lines and deep v-necks -- and I am totally digging the pockets.

@ Vera Wang...lovely looks in white. Classic and ladylike. I love dressing up a short or cropped pant for summer. Fun, leg lengthening shoes, too.

@ Marissa Webb...I love her aesthetic. Webb was Head of Womenswear and Accessories Design at JCrew for many years. Her feminine-with-an-edge sensibility translates to totally wearable clothes that ooze a confident, sophisticated cool. Sign me up.

@ JCrew...doing what they do best. Looks like we can keep our breton striped Ts and denim shirts & jackets in rotation well into next year.

Tomorrow...the search for the perfect fall bag.
